“As I stood in front of her she was wearing just her dress and flip flops. Hungry, exhausted, penniless, frightened and so young with her belly protruding new life. She was a trafficked young woman who lost all her bearings. She spoke little English. I vowed to myself I will do everything I can to make sure she was not going to go through this alone. I was able to feed her, help her find her way in the legal and housing system, get things for her baby. I was with her when she gave birth to her beautiful baby boy, I helped her establish breastfeeding, which she kept up for almost 2 years. I brought her to a wonderful supportive mums group, where she thrived and helped other mothers. She learned English, felt safe.

We wish that women who are about to give birth feel comfortable, secure and have their needs met.
Witnessing the conditions and circumstances some women face and knowing that we are actively participating in changes makes our work worthwhile.
We believe that no woman should be facing birth alone, homeless, destitute, isolated, fearful, hurting.
We would like to welcome each baby warmly into this world.
